McAuley students are celebrating significant achievement at GCSE. This represents the considerable efforts made by pupils and staff together, with the support of parents.

We are particularly pleased to see some superb individual performances from students facing a range of individual barriers to learning.
Once a full analysis has been undertaken, the specific results will be placed on the school website.

Many congratulations to all students and staff for their achievements.

We have today received the following update regarding the 586 morning bus service:

As you are aware a decision was taken by SYPTE towards the end of last year to cease the 586 morning run from Askern, Norton, Campsall and Bentley to the school. The school was advised of this decision by the Council and proceeded to investigate whether the service would be continued on a commercial basis by either the existing or a new provider, as has happened with other routes in the past. Unfortunately, this did not appear to be the case with this service.

During the summer the Council and local Ward Members have received representations from a number of parents regarding the cessation of the bus service and we appreciate the fact that this decision was taken with little notice and without appropriate consultation with all of the relevant parties. As a result of this the Mayor has now successfully lobbied SYPTE to maintain this service for a further year to allow time for a proper consultation. Although this may still ultimately result in the withdrawal of the service next year, this will allow all parties the opportunity to have their input and for all views to be considered before a final decision is taken.

The 586 service will therefore continue for one year on the same route and timetable as last year.

We would encourage all students and parents to use the OnBoard website to check school bus timetables and options.

The school will continue to communicate with the Council and SYPTE and keep parents informed of the consultation process and any developments.
